Education
Mariet Schmidt was born in 1935 in Schiedam, The Netherlands. She was taught by Johnny Rolf and Jan de Rooden, otherwise self-taught.

Career
In 1966 she had her first exhibition in Scheveningen. From 1972 onwards she lived and worked in Zuidwolde.

Production
Her work consists of small figurines and pots, decorated with incised lines and subtile glazes.
