Mieke Blits (1949)

Education
Mieke Blits was born in 1949 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She was a student at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam where she graduated in 1971. She was taught among others by Jan van der Vaart.

Career
From 1971-1984 she worked in 'Atelier Steengoed' in Amsterdam. From 1984 onwards she had her own studio in Amsterdam.
   

Production
Handbuilt objects and vases in stoneware. Strongly influenced by the Art-Deco period and the Memphis-Group. Her work is signed Mieke, Mieke Blits or MB and usually dated.
